More about the people of Angola
-The population of Luanda, the capital, is a little over five million.
-Luanda is located on the coast of Angola, about three quarters of the way up the coast to the northern border, and you can see it in the last picture on the location page.
-There are not any disputes in Angola at this very moment, but here is one that happened in the past. In 2007 there was an agreement signed with the Democratic Republic of the Congo that ended the border dispute between them. It also resolved issues with illegal immigration of miners around the borders. This was an important problem to be solved for it was an issue that had caused many wars in the past, as both countries tried to keep hold of the diamond and oil rich land.
-Angola gained independence from Portugal on November 11, 1975.
-Most of the tourist attractions in Angola are geographical features. Some include the Valley of the moon, Kalendula and Tazua waterfalls, Coatinha Beach, and the Black Stones. Valley of the Moon and the Black Stones are both interesting rock formations. Valley of the Moon is located south of Luanda and the Black Stones are near the city of Malange. The Kalendula waterfall is said to be one of the most amazing waterfalls in the world, and you can see it's picture below. Last, the Coatinha Beach is one of the best swimming areas in all Angola, and is part of the Benguela Bay. Visiting the capital city is also a great place to go, for it has gorgeous beaches and also a few national museums.
-The largest ethnic group in Angola is the Ovimbundu, with 37% of the people having ties to it.
